My new book: Mastering Rhinoplasty — Basic to Advanced Techniques
I have just finished what might be the most demanding writing project of my career — a new, 504-page edition of my textbook, now titled Mastering Rhinoplasty: Basic to Advanced Techniques, published this year by Bhalani Medical Book House. It carries forward the work I started with my earlier book, Aesthetic and Functional Rhinoplasty, which is now used by Rhinoplasty surgeons in over 20 countries.

When I wrote my first book on Rhinoplasty, I did it because I couldn't find a single text that properly addressed the Indian nose. Most of the literature available at the time was written for Western anatomy — different skin thickness, different cartilage strength, different aesthetic goals. I had to work a lot of this out myself, in the operating room, over years of trial and adjustment. That original gap is really what started me down this path of teaching, not just operating.
Thirty years and over 1,200 trained surgeons later, I keep coming back to write again because the field doesn't stand still, and neither does my own technique. This edition is nearly double the length of the last one — there was simply that much more I wanted to put on paper. This edition has more case studies, more practical techniques and contributions from experts around the world.
I still find it a strange feeling to be reminded that surgeons training today are learning from a book with my name on it. I don't take it lightly — it means getting the details right matters more, not less.
If you're a fellow surgeon and want a copy, it's available now through Bhalani Medical Book House. And if you're a patient reading this rather than a colleague — I hope it's some reassurance that the person you'd be trusting with your nose is the same one writing the book other surgeons learn from.
